These images were shot in Africa with film — the stuff young photographers can't wait to get their hands on, and those of us who spent countless hours in the darkroom now view with nostalgia. I miss it, and I don't. I'm a tech-y girl in a tech-y world and digital suits me just fine.
Africa is awe inspiring and humbling to me in ways beyond words. My trips there have left indelible impressions, as travel will do.
On a particular trip, our last stop was at an amazing reserve called Londolozi. Handwritten notes on handmade paper were placed atop each persons bed. Mine was a quote by Wordsworth that read "nature never did betray the heart that loved her". That night I slept alone in a freestanding room in the middle of the bushvelt, and I felt safe.
